late summer dahlias.
The garden always provides so much inspiration for my artwork. The shapes, colours and ever changing nature of it all just fascinates me. Dahlias are stunningly beautiful and fill the garden with colour at the end of summer when so many other flowers have faded and gone to seed. They are bold, colourful and unapologetic.
Here I have picked some of my favourites to display in a vase - American Dawn, Penny Lane and Totally Tangerine. You can probably tell how much I love coral shades in the garden. I have displayed them alongside cosmos, snapdragons, cerinthe, gaura and fluffy pennisetum grasses for a beautiful colourful and loose cottage garden display.
